This new trailer shows off all that can be done in the up and comming Mirrors Edge game for Xbox 360 and PS3. After playing the demo, I can tell you that I for one am very excited for this game. The game takes place in a totalitarian country where the main character, faith, is a runner who's job is to run messages to people while staying out of the governments surveillance coverage. The ability to perform all the parkour gymnastics on almost anything in the environment is such a pleasure and has a somewhat simple learning curve. While being first person and having no HUD its easy to assume that this is no FPS. The whole idea of the game is to get from one place to another without having to ever touch a gun, although you could if you wanted to, so the game forces the player to make split second decisions on changes of directions and very innovative thinking to get from point a to point b. The game engine is a modified Unreal 3 which looks absolutely stunning. The most amazing effect for example was standing in a shadow of another building with blue tarps over it and yet be bathed in a light blue from the reflection off the tarp. This game promises lots of action, puzzles, and sky scraper leaping excitement. I give it 2 thumbs up.
